Nikhita Obeegadoo is Assistant Professor of Francophone and Transcultural African Studies at the University of British Columbia. Her manuscript-in-progress explores contemporary narratives of social and ecological resilience arising from the archipelagic regions of the Indian Ocean and Caribbean. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in Comparative Literature, Nouvelles Études Francophones and Monsoon: Journal of the Indian Ocean Rim. Her research and teaching interests include the environmental humanities, critical ocean studies, critical approaches to race and ethnicity, trauma studies and the medical humanities.
