The Association of Postcolonial Thought is organizing several symposia to engage the futures of postcolonial thought.
Our inaugural symposium, titled “Anticolonialism as Theory” was held at the University of California, Berkeley in Fall 2022. A sub-set of papers appeared as a special issue of Representations, Anticolonialism as Theory in Spring 2023.
Next, in Fall 2023, we met at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (topic: Crisis). A sub-set of papers appeared in Post-45, Keywords for Postcolonial Thought.
Our third symposium took place in Fall 2024 at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (topic: Desire/Collectivity).
All symposia are open to the public and free to attend.
Our fourth symposium will take place at the University of California, Los Angeles, April 23-24, 2027.
