Mrinalini Chakravorty is associate professor of English at the University of Virginia and the author of In Stereotype: South Asia in the Global Literary Imaginary (Columbia UP, 2014).  At UVA, she also directs the program in Modern and Global Studies.  Her essays on postcolonial literature, critical theory, and transnational racial and sexual formations appear in various edited collections and journals such as PMLA, Modern Fiction Studies, ARIEL, Contemporary Literature, and differences. Her primary fields of research and teaching are postcolonial literature, with concentrations in comparative colonial studies, critical theory, and sexuality studies.  She is working on two new books provisionally titled, The World Republic of Queer Letters and The Novel at the End of the World.
