Anthony Alessandrini is Professor of English at Kingsborough Community College-CUNY and of Middle Eastern Studies at the CUNY Graduate Center, where he is also a member of the Committee on Globalization and Social Change. He is the author of Frantz Fanon and the Future of Cultural Politics; the editor of Frantz Fanon: Critical Perspectives; and the co-editor of “Resistance Everywhere”: The Gezi Protests and Dissident Visions of Turkey. He has also published a poetry chapbook, Children Imitating Cormorants. His book Decolonize Multiculturalism will be published by OR Books in the fall of 2022, and he is currently working on a book entitled Nobody Chooses to Come Here: Essays on Community, Education, and Liberation. He is a Co-Editor of Jadaliyya E-Zine, is a co-convener of the International Solidarity Action Research Network, and is on the faculty of the Brooklyn Institute for Social Research. During the 2021-2022 academic year, he was a Member of the School of Social Science at the Institute for Advanced Study.
