Annabelle Haynes (aehaynes@princeton.edu) is a PhD candidate in the Department of English, with a certificate in African American Studies at Princeton University. Before coming to Princeton, she earned a BA in English from Mount Holyoke College, an MSc in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science, as well as an MA in English from Georgetown University. In her ongoing dissertation, provisionally titled Island Imaginaries: Women Writers Mapping Freedom Beyond Development in Caribbean Literature from 1980-2020, she analyzes the confluence of postcolonial development discourse and literary experimentation in works by Caribbean women writers.
