Anirbaan Banerjee (he/him; ab4882@columbia.edu) is a PhD candidate in the Department of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University. His dissertation project studies how inter-diasporic relations were negotiated between Black and Asian diasporas in the print and visual cultures of Britain during the decades of post-Second World War decolonization. Seeking to develop a vocabulary for these inter-diasporic relations shaped in the long shadow of Empire, his dissertation seeks to situate these metropolitan affiliations within discourses of racial justice circulating transnationally at this time.
